Reef Advantage Calcium - 4 kg
Seachem Reef Advantage Calcium is a non-caustic (pH level between 8.3–8.6) concentrated ionic calcium powder that has been designed specifically to raise the amount of calcium and maintain magnesium and strontium levels similar to that of natural seawater. Being absolutely essential for proper coral growth and development, and fluctuation or decrease in the levels of these compounds can quickly result in coral depletion and eventually death. Additionally, the formula contains magnesium and strontium in amounts proportionate to the typical utilization ratios of 100:5:0.1, Ca:Mg:Sr. This allows reefkeepers to easily maintain these two vital elements while maintaining proper calcium levels at the same time. Unlike limewater (also known as kalkwasser), Seachem Reef Advantage Calcium will not deplete magnesium and when used as directed on the bottle, it will not deplete alkalinity levels within the aquarium.Comes in a 4 kilogram container.
It is recommended to maintain a Calcium level between 380-420 mg/L with an alkalinity between 3-6 meq/L (8-17 dKH). It is safer and more effective to make large adjustments in minor increments to avoid overshooting the intended levels or potentially lethally shocking delicate corals and invertebrates. Each 5 g/150 L will raise calcium by about 12 mg/L.
Use a 5 g (1 level teaspoon) per 150 L (40 US gallons) of aquarium water twice a week. Dissolve in at least 250 mL (1 cup) of freshwater. Carefully on the calcium levels every 2 weeks and adjust amount or frequency of the dosage according to these levels.
Check on the calcium level and then follow the precise process until the calcium levels have been adjusted to 380–420 mg/L. Each 5 g/150 L will raise the calcium count by about 12 mg/L. Generally, the quantity and frequency of these doses can be adjusted to fit the specific needs of your aquarium, but do not exceed 10 g/150 L per day. Use as required to maintain optimal calcium levels.
After determining the calcium consumption rate, set up a continuous drip system for your aquarium. Use the following formula to determine how much Seachem Reef Advantage Calcium to add to your top-off water: m=vc/400 (m=grams to add to top off water, v=volume of tank in liters, c=amount to raise calcium in mg/L). [For reference: 1 gallon=3.8 liters, 5 g=1 teaspoon].
DO NOT OVERDOSE:
Excess calcium levels can increase the loss of carbonate alkalinity. Do not directly mix with any carbonate supplement. For best results, calcium & carbonate additives should be added on alternate days or at least 30 minutes apart.
